- The person with the longest nose goes first.
- The first player picks a coin out of the bag and looks at both sides.
- Then that player says, "This is a ___ . I can trade it for ___ pennies."
- Example: If Zack picked a quarter he would say, "This is a quarter. I can trade it for 25 pennies."
- If the player is correct, the player gets 10 points and puts the coin back in the bag.
- If the player is not correct, the player gets 0 points and puts the coin back in the bag.
- The game is over when a player gets to 120 points.
- Take a picture of yourself playing this game and post it on your portfolio in Class Dojo.
2. Play a Trading Game (You will need a bag of mixed coins (P,N,D, & Q), and a bag of pennies.)
- Each player gets one bag.
- The player with the bag of mixed coins picks out a coin and says, "I have a ___."
- The player with the bag of pennies, say, "I can trade ___ pennies for your ___."
- If the player with the pennies is right, that player counts out the correct number of pennies and makes the trade with the other player. DO NOT PUT THE COINS THAT WERE TRADED IN THE BAG.
- Then the players switch bags and start over again at step 2.
- Play continues until one of the bags is empty.
- Example: Kat picks a dime and says, "I have a dime." Kit says, "I can trade 10 pennies for your dime." Kit is correct and counts 10 pennies to trade with Kat. They trade the coins and they switch bags.
