Irregular Plural Nouns
1. Watch these videos from PBS Kids and Imagine Learning to review what a noun is and how to make it plural (more than one).
2. Watch a video about tricky plural nouns that break the rules we have learned.
3. Watch this video and then draw a picture of two words. Each picture should be labeled. Get creative! Send a picture on Classdojo to your teacher.
Words you can use for your drawing: wolf/wolves, half/halves, loaf/loaves, leaf/leaves, calf/calves

The following are irregular plural nouns you can use for the above activities. You can also use your own words.
loaf, loaves, wife, wives, wolf, wolves, life, lives, leaf, leaves, knife, knives (these go with today's lesson)
man, men, woman, women, geese, goose, sheep, mouse, mice, teeth, tooth, child, children, foot, feet
1. Irregular Plural Nouns Search
- Find a book.
- Look at each page.
- Make a list of all the irregular plural nouns in the book on a piece of paper.
- Write a sentence for 5 of the words you found. *Be sure to include capital letters and periods.
- Take a picture of your sentences and post them on your portfolio in Class Dojo.
2. Irregular Plural Nouns Matching (You will need note cards, a pencil, and another person.)
- Pick 7-10 irregular plural nouns. Make two cards for each word.
- Place all of the cards face down on a table or the floor.
- Now you're ready to play. The oldest person goes first.
- On your turn, turn over one card. Read the word.
- Turn over a second card. Read the word.
- If the words match, you keep the cards. If they do not, turn the cards back over.
- That is the end of your turn.
- Take turns playing until there are no more cards left.
- The person with the most matches wins.
- Record yourself playing this game or take a picture playing this game, and post it on your portfolio on Class Dojo.

Number Bonds (Part-Part-Whole)
1. Watch this video from WSKG about number bonds and addition.

3. Play one or more of these games to practice number bonds and part-part-whole.
4. Play Kahoot! Use your first and last name as your nickname. Click here to play.
For those of you who are unable to do the activities above, try one or more of these activities instead.
1. CHALK & TALK (You will need sidewalk chalk, a place to play, and some counters like rocks, beans, etc.)
2. NUMBER BOND SNACKS (You will need paper, pencil, and a snack with a lot of small pieces like goldfish, M&Ms, etc.)
1. CHALK & TALK (You will need sidewalk chalk, a place to play, and some counters like rocks, beans, etc.)
- Draw a large circle. Say, "This is the whole."
- Draw two smaller circles above, under, or beside the large circle and connect them to the large circle with two lines. Say, "These are the two parts." Ask your child what he/she notices about the parts. (They're smaller.)
- Put objects into two of the circles.
- If you put objects in the two parts, your child should add the two parts together to find the missing whole and say, "The missing whole is ___."
- If you put objects in one of the parts and the whole (the whole should always be greater than or equal to the part), you child can use subtraction or counting on to find the missing part, and say, "The missing part is ___."
- Play ten rounds.
- Then talk with your child about what he/she noticed about the whole and the parts when playing the game. Talk about how he/she figured out the missing parts or the missing whole.
- Take a picture of your Chalk & Talk and post it on your portfolio in Class Dojo.
2. NUMBER BOND SNACKS (You will need paper, pencil, and a snack with a lot of small pieces like goldfish, M&Ms, etc.)
- Draw a number bond on the paper.
- Draw one large circle. Explain that this is the whole.
- Draw two smaller circles. Explain that these are the two parts.
- Put snacks into two of the circles.
- If you put snacks in the two parts, your child should add the two parts together to find the missing whole and say, "The missing whole is ___."
- If you put snacks in one of the parts and the whole (the whole should always be greater than or equal to the part), you child can use subtraction or counting on to find the missing part, and say, "The missing part is ___."
- If your child is correct, he/she gets to keep the snacks. If incorrect, you get to keep them.
- Play ten rounds.
- After ten rounds, talk with your child about what he/she noticed about the whole and the parts when playing the game. Talk about how he/she figured out the missing parts or the missing whole.
- Take a picture of one of your snack number bonds and post it on your portfolio in Class Dojo.
